What better way to celebrate your birthday than getting to attend a concert by your favorite artist?
One lucky fan spent her special day doing just that and was in for an unforgettable extra gift. At Blake Shelton’s Greensboro, NC show, an 84-year-old fan received a hug from Blake himself as part of her birthday celebration. Shelton, known for being a class act, invited the birthday girl on stage after spotting her sign waving in the crowd during the Saturday night show on March 1 at the Coliseum.
The sign read “May I Hug You For My 84th Birthday?” to which Shelton jokingly replied, “How you gonna put that kinda pressure on someone in front of all these d*** people?”.
He then launched into singing his 2011 hit, All About Tonight, which was the perfect party anthem for the birthday queen to dance her way onto the stage. Showing off her best moves, she waltzed up to Blake, who greeted her with a warm, heartfelt hug. At 6’5″, Blake’s engulfing embrace looked like a dream come true for the fan. The two shared a moment as Blake sang to her before she exited the stage. It was definitely a night she’ll never forget—and a video you’ll watch with a smile from start to finish.
Fans are loving the interaction in the comments section of the post: “WOW SHES 84!!!! She’s definitely moves better than most 50 year olds,” and “Loved this concert. First one I had been to in years and it was great. Granny really got down with Blake.” I have to agree– her dance moves may have stolen the show!
