The summer of Creed continues.
It’s been well-documented that we are officially in a Creed renaissance. From the Texas Rangers famously playing the band before games during their 2023 World Series run to their new-found appreciation on social media, it seems as if they have found their second wind in the hearts of many new listeners.
The new-found popularity prompted them to embark on their Summer of ’99 reunion tour this year which has featured the likes of 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Switchfoot, Tonic and the Big Wreck.
Last night, Creed took their Summer of ’99 tour to Nashville, and treated fans to hits such as “Higher,” “One Last Breath” and “With Arms Wide Open.” What fans didn’t expect, however, was none other than HARDY to make a surprise appearance and perform “Weathered,” the title track of their 2001 album, halfway through the set.
It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Creed would pick HARDY to make a guest appearance at their Nashville show given that HARDY has not only dabbled in metal on albums such as the mockingbird & THE CROW, but he’s also covered “One Last Breath” frequently on his Quit!! tour throughout the summer.
While I’d be lying if I said that I was the world’s biggest Creed fan, I really can’t help but appreciate the resurgence the band has had over the past few years. Like Nickelback, they became the butt of many tired jokes, and it’s nice to see them finally get the appreciation that many fans believe they’ve deserved. If you’re a HARDY and Creed fan, this is a performance for the ages.
