Ella Langley on the Opry stage, singing Ronnie Milsap covers, is the definition of magic.

The “Dandelion” singer joined the historic venue last night for the country music legends’ 50th anniversary as an Opry member. The 35-number-one-hits maker, Milsap, was joined by fellow country stars, including Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Vince Gill, Keith Urban, and Mark Wills, who gathered to honor his more than five-decade-long career.

Milsap was one of the leading artists in country music during the ‘70s and ‘80s, with reigning hits like “Stranger In My House” and “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me,” and remains an influential name in the industry. Born blind in a rural part of North Carolina, the singer-songwriter joined the Opry in 1976 and, throughout his career, earned six Grammys and numerous CMA and ACM Awards.

During the night, the Opry members performed an array of their favorite Milsap songs along with some of their own top hits. In Langley’s case, she delivered stunning renditions of his 1977 track, “Almost Like a Song,” and the 1981 #1 country hit, “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It For The World.”

Before delivering a stunning rendition of the heart-tugging song, “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It For The World,” Langley dedicated the performance to her father. She told the audience, “You know I fell in love with Ronnie Milsap in the back of my daddy’s truck. I can’t tell you how many dirt roads we’ve driven together, how many hunting trips we’ve spent.” She exclaimed, “There are just some artists for me that every single song, yes. I would not be the artist I am today if it weren’t for Ronnie Milsap.”

Joined solely by her acoustic guitar, Langley filled the 100-year-old auditorium with raw, echoing vocals that made for a truly stunning performance. If there’s one thing about the Alabama native, she knows how to crush a cover and make it uniquely hers. Accompanied by a band, complete with the classic country steel guitar harmonizing, her cover of “Almost Like A Song” was equally incredibly captivating.

There’s something so effortlessly classy about Langley’s stage presence from last night that just screams, “legend in the making.” Celebrating her own Billboard top 100 chart-topping success, she also performed her 2025 lead single from her upcoming album, “Choosin’ Texas,” as well as the title track, “Dandelion.”

Luckily for Langley fans (including all of the newly founded Ella Fellas out there), the release of her third studio album is only six weeks away. In turn, this also means the start of her coinciding 2026 Dandelion Tour will commence on May 7 in Toledo, OH. With 16 headlining dates throughout the summer, there’s sure to be many more incredible live performances from Langley to come.
