ERNEST surprised fans tonight on the final show of Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken Tour, bringing out none other than reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, Morgan Wallen, to perform alongside of him during his opening set.
In his first public appearance since winning Entertainer of the Year, Wallen and ERNEST played not one but two of their collaborations before the “I Am Not Okay” singer took the stage at the Bridgestone Arena.
According to TikTok user, Tay Stanford, ERNEST introduced the “Last Night” singer as Morgan “Waylon” in reference to Jeff Bridges’ mispronunciation before naming Wallen Entertainer of the Year last Wednesday during the CMA Awards.
The pair proceeded to perform their certified 2x platinum 2021 single, “Flower Shops” as well as their recent #1 hit, “Cowgirls,” which helped propel Wallen to break a record for most #1 hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart in a calendar year with five separate entries throughout 2024.
Before the show, Jelly Roll took to his Instagram story to tease “something special” for attendees of the show, and it turns out that it was, in fact, Wallen’s surprise appearance with ERNEST.
The pairing shouldn’t come as a surprise given Wallen and Jelly Roll’s friendship, which was highlighted back in July when the “Need a Favor” singer defended Wallen after he canceled a show at the last minute due to illness.
Tonight’s Nashville show ended Jelly Roll’s 13-week, 58-show tour which sold out every single arena that he performed at.
