This past weekend, Miranda Lambert hosted her inaugural “Music For Mutts” benefit concert at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, where artists such as Jake Worthington, Little Big Town and more, performed to raise money for her MuttNation Foundation that she co-founded with her mom in 2009.
For those unaware, MuttNation promotes the adoption of shelter pets and has raised over $9 million since its inception. It also works with transport partners to assist and relocate animals during times of natural disaster.
The original lineup consisted of the aforementioned Jake Worthington and Little Big Town, as well as Lukas nelson, Dan + Shay, HARDY and more. Although Riley Green wasn’t scheduled to make an appearance, his set at Morgan Wallen and Eric Church’s Field & Stream Music Fest in South Carolina got cancelled due to damage from Hurricane Helene.
So, according to Lambert, Riley reached out asking to help, and the two took the stage to perform a stripped back, acoustic version of Green’s 2019 No. 1 hit, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.”
