The song that keeps on giving.
If you’ve gotten on the internet or turned on your local country radio station at least once in the last month, there’s a good chance you’ve heard Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s newest collaboration titled “I Had Some Help.”
The song, which Morgan first teased on Instagram before deleting it back in December of last year, has only been out for a little over three weeks, yet has already garnered almost 200 million streams on Spotify alone, as well as over 25 million views on the music video via Youtube.
It also recently debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s all-genre, Hot 100 chart, helping Morgan break Taylor Swift’s record for most weeks at No. 1 on the chart this decade and giving Post his sixth-career single to reach the Hot 100’s top spot.
While “I Had Some Help” is extremely catchy, the most common negative remark towards the hit song that I’ve seen thus far is that it’s overproduced. If you’re one of those folks who share that opinion, then the acoustic version that Post Malone shared on social media earlier might be for you.
Unfortunately for Morgan fans, he’s not featured in this video, as he didn’t attend Cowboys QB Dak Prescott’s Faith Fight Finish gala earlier in the month. However, I wouldn’t count out an acoustic version being released by the duo to all streaming platforms at some point, especially because fans are loving the stripped-back sound in the comments.
