Man, was this good.
Back in 2009, Brooks & Dunn officially announced their retirement as a duo. Since then, the group has obviously gotten back together to tour and even put out their “Reboot” album, featuring reimagined versions of their most iconic hits with country stars from today.
At the time of the announcement, the band decided to give fans one “last” tour, fittingly called The Last Rodeo. Months later, they were honored with a tribute special, where multiple artists – including George Strait, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and more, performed for the crowd at MGM Grand with Kix and Ronnie watching from the side.
While the King put on an extremely entertaining performance of “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and Taylor Swift rocked out to “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You,” it was Tim McGraw who arguably stole the show when he took on a song that surprisingly worked very well for him. And that was none other than the groups 1994 #1 hit, “That Ain’t No Way To Go.”
Now, in the title I stated this performance may be the best I’ve ever heard Tim sing. However, I must preface that by saying it may be the best LIVE performance I’ve heard from the “Indian Outlaw” singer. If you aren’t aware, Tim and his wife Faith Hill did a duet album in 2017, where he crushes (and I mean absolutely crushes), his verse on the song “Speak to a Girl.” Don’t worry, I’ve got it linked below for you to check out as well.
But fans in the comments were also impressed, sharing nothing but praise for the performance:
I can’t believe how amazing he sang this!! In front of B & D at that! I have heard many a covers in my time… But this has to be one of the best ones ever!
Tim McGraw’s voice sounds really good with this song.
Legendary cover of that song, tim knocked that one out the park
