Brought a tear to my eye.
Despite the Philadelphia Eagles getting off to a rocky post-Super Bowl start and the Cincinnati Bengals underperforming even with Joe Burrow returning to form, many were looking forward to this Week 8 matchup between the AFC North rivals.
Why you may ask? Two words: Zach Top.
It’s no secret that Top has been one of the buzziest country stars in the game right now. Between his phenomenal guitar work, his underrated songwriting and his dedication to bringing back that classic ’90s country sound, the “Use Me” singer is well on his way to stardom.
After being announced to sing the anthem on Wednesday, Top delivered a knockout rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” dressed in an all-denim outfit.
Fans took to X to praise Top’s performance with one post reading, “Just teared up. Zach Top in all denim and 4 choppers fly over.” and another reading, “Class. That’s the only way I can describe the Zach Top anthem. Pure class.”
Thankfully, we didn’t get another Ingrid Andress-type National Anthem performance with Top giving Cody Johnson a run for his money.
