Wyatt Flores is back (sort of).

Today, the “Please Don’t Go“ singer shared an update with his fans on the current status of his mental health, while also posting a live performance video of a new, unreleased song, titled “Devil,” to his social media accounts.

“I’ve been doing some work and getting on a better track and am doing very well having a life outside of music these last couple of weeks.

I’d also like to thank every person that’s told me about their struggles and what they’re going through for not making me feel so alone through all this. I want yall to know I’m ok and want to thank yall for reaching out.

This song is called Devil and was written on the perspective of if loneliness was a person you could talk to. The verses are some of the battles that have run through my head late at night. I’m coming back slowly and finding my joy in this again.”

Last month, Flores canceled and/or postponed multiple tour dates due to struggles with his mental health, admitting that he sometimes only feels loved “because of the guitar that sits in my hand.”

“I know most people don’t understand what goes on in my mind up on that stage. Because you all have made my dreams come true, I’ve given everything I have to keeptouring, writing, and recording. Since November, I’ve been struggling with the feeling of feeling nothing.

At the end of the day, I’m human and no one is built to run this hard without taking care of themselves while feeling this much adrenaline.…

The truth is, I struggle with my sense of worth and sometimes feel like I’m only loved because of the guitar that sits in my hand. I have a hard time saying no to things and disappointing anyone, most importantly my fans.

“Feelings don’t go away. I used to cover them up by crawling into bottles and any other distraction available. I’ve slowed down on my drinking and tried to take better care of myself. All of the sudden, the feelings finally caught up.”

Oxford, OH is cancelled with refunds available at the original point of purchase. Detroit and Toronto will be rescheduled at a later date. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/gzNqvMoqRx

His new song, “Devil,” was recorded live from Cain’s Ballroom in his home state of Oklahoma and features Wyatt standing on the stage holding his acoustic guitar as he tells the crowd:

“If anyone was ever wondering what goes on through my head, this is the song.”

I’m truly happy to hear Wyatt’s break from the music scene has been treating him well. Although we absolutely love his music, his (and all artists’) mental health and well-being should come first. Check out “Devil” here:
