Wyatt Flores To Release Highly-Anticipated Debut Album “Welcome To The Plains” On October 18th

“My name is Wyatt Flores and I was born and raised on the Oklahoma Plains, and you’re going to feel that in my music.”

This morning, rising-country star, Wyatt Flores, officially announced the release date for his highly-anticipated full-length debut album, “Welcome To The Plains.”

A post shared by Wyatt Flores (@officialwyattflores)

Set to drop on Friday, October 18th, the album will feature a total of 14-songs, including “Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight,” the brand new one that Wyatt announced will drop tomorrow (Aug. 30) on social media earlier in the week. It will also feature songwriting collaborations with Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor and Aaron Raitiere, and is produced by Beau Bedford (Shane Smith & The Saints).

Reflecting on the new record, Flores shares, “It’s an album about home and a search for happiness. It’s an album about Stillwater, Oklahoma, and all the other little towns that have raised people like you and me. It’s an album about my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today.  This album is happy on one side and heartbreak on the other, and whoever you are, I hope you find something you love in here.”

In a recent Instagram post announcing his new single, “Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight,” Wyatt touched on the struggles of leaving his hometown of Stillwater, OK, and how that influenced the writing process for this album:

“Everyone’s trying to make it out, but at the same time, you don’t want to leave. You have to find beauty in the worst of it all, and that’s what I love about this place. When we were writing ‘Welcome To The Plains,’ it was me trying to figure out a way to paint this imagery and the way I view it if I was just daydreaming about it going down a different highway that’s not around here.“

Wyatt released his first song, “Travelin’ Kid,” back in Spring of 2021, but the Oklahoma native made a name for himself (and fast) when he released “Please Don’t Go” and “Losing Sleep” the following year. As of this very moment, both songs have combined for an impressive 180 million streams on Spotify alone.

It’s simple: Wyatt Flores is the face of the new generation of country. Blending a traditional sound with folk and even sometimes rock, the “Break My Bones” singer does it in a way that sounds modern, mainstream and fresh. Plus, he’s not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and showcase his vulnerability through his songwriting and that’s what makes listeners feel so connected to his music.
