Morgan Wallen may just be the most popular artist in not just country, but in all of music.
Today, Billboard released their year end chart rankings and Morgan finished with the most entries of any artist on the Top 100 with a total of eight.
Coming in at #1 with “Last Night,” Morgan also had two other singles break the top 20 with “You Proof” ranking at #12, and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” at #19.
This marks the first time a country artist has held the year-end top spot since Kenny Rogers did it back in 1981.
Earlier in the year, Last Night surpassed “As It Was” by Harry Styles to become the longest running #1 solo song in the Hot 100 chart’s history since it began in 1958. It was also the best-selling song on Spotify, all-genre, where it was labeled as the Song of the Summer.
On top of all of that, the song was Morgan’s fastest rise to No. 1 on Country airplay so far in his career, taking just 7 weeks to get there after being shipped off to radio.
The next country song to make the list is Luke Combs with his cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 hit, “Fast Car,” firmly sitting in the eighth position.
Morgan also came in at #1 with his third studio album, “One Thing At A Time.” The record impressively beat out Taylor Swift’s “Midnights,” as well as SZA’s “SOS.”
His 2021 release, “Dangerous: The Double Album” also comes in at No. 5 on the year, which is monumental, considering it was released over two years ago.
And if all that wasn’t enough, Morgan also swept the Billboard Music Awards last week, bringing home more awards than any other artist with eleven.
Whether you love him or hate him, there’s not much left to prove. His records and accolades truly speak for themselves.
