Ella Langley and Riley Green have been making waves with their recent collaboration, “you look like you love me,” ever since it hit music streaming services on Friday (June 21). Today, the pair took things one step further, performing an acoustic iteration of the soon-to-be hit song in a CMT Studio Session, where their stellar vocals could be on full display.
Langley served as support for Green on his Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour, treating attendees to the brand new tune at their 36th and final concert together on June 1. Performing the track for the first time onstage at Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, country music lovers had been anxiously awaiting its release, taking to Langley’s Instagram account to express their enthusiasm when it finally hit streaming services:
“Waited for this ever since I saw your reel a month or so back. Worth every second.”
“Smash. Hit. Banger.”
“Song of the summer!!!”
These fans were in for another treat when Langley and Green performed “you look like you love me” acoustically today (June 24) in said CMT Studio Session, where their chemistry could be on full display. With a lovey-dovey charm that runs throughout the track, “you look like you love me” tells a back-and-forth love story from the perspective of both the male and the female, and the setting of this stripped-down performance could not have been more perfect — their emotion was practically oozing through the screen.
Naturally, country connoisseurs were in agreement with just how spectacular this stripped-down set sounds:
“I’ve listened to this so many times… it’s my new favorite song”
“Love it already!”
