We’ve gotten used to fun, danceable anthems — such as “Leather Jacket” and “Party Song” — from rising superstar Emma Zinck, but it looks like the Virginia native is ready to begin a brand-new, far more emotional era in 2025.
Releasing a tune that tugs on our heartstrings on Feb. 21, “Somebody To Love Me” might just be the start of said era.
For those who are unfamiliar, Zinck first gained traction through social media, releasing covers of “Talking To The Moon” by Bruno Mars, “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift and more that garnered a great deal of engagement. While her covers spanned a wide range of genres, her original music tends to lean country instead, complete with her signature electric guitar sound.
After having some success via social media, Zinck did what all aspiring country music artists do, taking a leap and moving to Music City eight years ago. According to the talented singer-songwriter herself, “Somebody To Love Me” was her “first ever co-write in Nashville,” and now, the tune is finally available for the public to stream at their leisure.
“This song was my first ever co-write in Nashville. I wrote the chorus when I was 19. It’s grown to mean so many different things to me through my 20s. I wrote this song from pure raw emotion,” she wrote in an Instagram caption, accompanying a post that announced the release of “Somebody To Love Me.”
She continued:
“It seems most things we’ve done or created quite some time ago we tend to cringe at, or not see them as any good because we’ve grown to be better. I have definitely grown in my songwriting, but I feel like there’s something timeless about a song that’s just desperate and honest, because it has continued to resonate with people every time I’ve played it live for the past eight years.”
Zinck then added that although this is one of the first songs she ever wrote in Music City, it has been re-recorded five or six times since, tailoring the tune to perfection.
Nevertheless, she concluded:
“I think there’s a reason why it’s now just coming to the world. This song taught me how to stand up for myself, how to continue to stand up for the belief I have in it, and ultimately, how the ‘Somebody To Love Me’ is me. This song is like my child, one of my first creations into adulthood, and still one of my favorites.”
Ever since its release, “Somebody To Love Me” has seemingly been a hit, with fans taking to Zinck’s comment section to share that it “blew their socks off” and beyond. Likely due to the early success of the song, the budding country artist took the tune to the next level, releasing an official visualizer for “Somebody To Love Me” on Mar. 12.
As mentioned in the above Instagram caption, “Somebody To Love Me” is an emotional ballad about feeling alone and unlovable, eventually learning as the track progresses that the love she seeks can only be found within herself.
As she sings the soon-to-be smash hit, Zinck is seen rocking a wedding dress and veil, belting out the oh-so powerful lyrics in a rather ominous gray room. Towards the middle of the visualizer, we see a second version of Zinck enter said room, donning her signature style consisting of leather, bold jewelry and black accessories.
Switching between the two versions of herself, in the end, we see both Zincks come together, seemingly referencing the self-love she is singing about throughout the track.
Needless to say, Emma Zinck is a star in the making, and “Somebody To Love Me” might have just secured her spot in the country music community once and for all.
