Rising Warner Music Nashville artist, Austin Snell, will officially make his Grand Ole Opry debut on November 14th.
Fresh off his major label debut album, “Muddy Water Rockstar,” the country rocker, who began his rise to fame with the help of his cover of Cassadee Pope’s “Wasting All These Tears” on TikTok last year, has racked up over 100 million streams globally, with his debut single, “Excuse The Mess,” accounting for an impressive 20 million of them.
Snell cleverly blends country and rock, appealing to country fans who also love and grew up on early 2000’s bands such as Nickelback, Linkin Park and 3 Doors Down.
With that said, it’s no wonder 3 Doors Down lead singer, Brad Arnold, was tasked with surprising Snell via video chat to invite him to make his Opry debut next month.
Completely shocked and confused, Snell humbly admitted he was at a loss for words. On his Instagram announcement post, Snell briefly reflected on his journey to success, captioning it with this:
“I stepped across the Grand Ole Opry stage in 2018 as a tourist and on November 14th, I’ll walk across that stage after I play it. It’s unreal what a little belief in yourself and trusting in gods plan can do.”
For generations, performing at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time has been a surreal “I made it” moment for new country acts. While the Opry’s rich history has been severely watered down and doesn’t hold the same weight it once did, its prestigious reputation still fulfills the dreams of young artists who receive the honor of performing on the same stage their heroes did before them. And Snell’s early success speaks for itself.
Austin is currently out on the road for his headlining Muddy Water Rockstar Tour, with special guest Lauren Watkins. You can view the remaining dates and purchase tickets here.
