Earlier in the year, Bud Light partnered with transgender influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, sparking outrage amongst its consumers and costing Anheuser-Busch a hefty amount of money. Following the backlash, Brendan Whitworth, the chief executive of Anheuser-Busch, issued a statement saying: “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.” Country artists such as Brantley Gilbert and Riley Green expressed their distaste for the brand’s move, with Green changing the lyrics to arguably his best song, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died:” Country Music Artist Riley Green Cancels…

Rackin’ em up. As of November 15th, Zach Bryan earned two new gold certifications from the RIAA for his latest self-titled album, along with his single, “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves off the same record. In case you weren’t aware, when an artist receives a gold certification, it means the single or album has sold at least 500,000 units since its release A unit defines the consumption of music that equals the purchase of one album copy. In what became Megan Moroney’s first ever platinum single, is now also her first song to reach double platinum status by the RIAA. One of my favorite Drayton Farley songs. After a three-night run out on the east coast together for the Acoustic Nights Tour earlier this year, Drayton Farley and Sam Barber have once again teamed up to bless our news feeds (and ears) with an incredible performance of Drayton’s 2021 release, “Chewing on Fire.” Drayton is one of the most talented songwriters, not just in the independent/americana scene, but in my opinion, in all of music. While still extremely underrated, 2023 has been a breakout year for the Alabama native. Releasing two projects, including his most recent 5-track EP, Kudzu Wild,…

Ahh, here we go again. We’ve seen a massive increase of internet trolling and sh*t talking from infamous keyboard warriors over the last few years, especially with country music fans. It seems that no matter what most artists do, there’s always a handful of social media users ready to find something to b*tch about and/or post “that’s not real country” in the comments sections. If you aren’t thick-skinned or ready to ignore the “haters,” its something that could drive artists and journalists everywhere crazy. To be fair, country fans have had to endure some pretty shi**y years of pop music…
