As someone with a diverse music taste, especially when it comes to Country music, I’ve found that it’s still easier to discuss what I don’t like within the genre, rather than what I do like. When approached with the question, “What type of Country do you listen to?”, 90’s (of course) always comes to mind, as well as the Texas music scene. But then my brain goes “Oh! I like this as well,” and then I find myself on a 3-minute spiel about this project from this artist and so on. Maybe it just boils down to the fact that…

Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” is officially no. 1 at Country radio. Not only was Last Night the most-streamed song, all-genre, this past week, it was also the fourth most-sold song, just ahead of Luke Combs’ “Fast Car.” Wallen’s album, “One Thing At A Time,” the massive 36-song record that the single belongs to, is currently the best-selling album of the year so far, so it’s really not a surprise to see all of the achievements coming along with it. Now officially his 9th No. 1 hit, Last Night, written by John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin and Ryan Vojtesak, reached…

In honor of the 58th annual ACM Award’s next week, we’re going back a few years to honor The King. In 2019, George Strait released a surprise song, “God and Country Music,” and not only does it have a special meaning, it also featured vocals from his, at the time, 6 year old grandson. Written by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Lori McKenna, the song is as traditional as something Strait would’ve released in the 80’s or 90’s. Staying true to his roots, the song gives us the notion that Country music and God are the two things still worth…

Just this morning, Texas native William Clark Green, announced he was making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry on May 16th. The Opry has always been a place that Country music artists strive to play at and (hopefully) become a member of when they’re young in their career. Even though the credibility of the Opry has started to diminish over the years, it’s still cool to see guys like Green get a chance to be recognized. The “She Likes The Beatles” singer put out his first record in 2008 but if I’m being honest, I didn’t discover him until…
