Takin’ a little trip down memory lane.. Back in 1989, “Friends In Low Places,” written by Earl Bud Lee and Dewayne Blackwell , was originally intended to be a George Strait song. Low Places, arguably the biggest hit of Garth Brooks’ career, was sent to him before he had ever released an album to record a demo so it could be sent to The King. Fast forward a year later, and George Strait never decided to cut it. “’Friends in Low Places’ was the last demo session I ever did as a singer. I sang the session out in Hendersonville,…

HARDY’s been havin’ himself a year. Back in January, HARDY released his half-country, half-rock album, “the mockingbird & THE CROW,” and has seen huge success at Country radio with his Lainey Wilson feature, “wait in the truck.” Up next, HARDY is deciding to pull “Truck Bed,” a single from the rock side of his record, to send over to Country radio as his next single, set to impact May 15th. Lyrically reminiscent of his song “Boots,” the track is infectiously catchy and most fans, like myself, can’t wait for the ending when the song goes full on rock. Will this…

Still killin’ it. According to Billboard Charts, Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” was the most-streamed song this week, all-genre. Not only does he hold the top spot in streaming numbers, “Last Night” is also the fourth most-sold song in the Country this week, just ahead of Luke Combs’ “Fast Car” at No. 5. Pretty impressive for Country music if ya ask me. This really shouldn’t be that much of a shock, considering that, according to Chart Data, Morgan’s One Thing At A Time is currently the best-selling album of 2023 so far, with with 2.199 million units sold, and his 2021…

Kind of a big deal… This past week, Brett Young officially received four new gold/platinum certifications from the RIAA and his biggest hit to date, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” went a massive 9X platinum, meaning it’s moved over 9 million units since its release. To put that into perspective, when a record goes 10x platinum, it becomes a certified Diamond record, something not too many artists do, especially in Country music. Young is THAT close. Brett Young’s 2016 debut single, “Sleep Without You,” as well as “Here Tonight,” also went 2X platinum, while his collaboration with Gavin Degraw, “Chapters”…
