Guys, we’re getting old. Another new year approaching means the country music of the past is fading further and further into the rearview. 20 years ago feels like it should be 1990, not 2004. I can’t speak for everyone, but I find myself getting more and more nostalgic for that era of country music. Something feels wrong about considering Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley as throwbacks, but I’ll be damned if some of these songs don’t take us back to a simpler time. Here’s just a few of the songs turning 20 years old in 2024. A quick note: all…

Santa’s not the only one making lists this season. This week Rolling Stone released their list of the Best Country and Americana Albums of 2023. The publication has released several of these types of rankings in recent weeks, including a Top 100 Songs of 2023 and Top 100 Albums of 2023. Both of their previous compilations featured several country entries but honored all genres. This, however, is the first from them this year dedicated to country music. Pass the bottle. Like him or not, Morgan Wallen is on top of the world right now. His single “Last Night” was the best streaming song, regardless of genre, on multiple platforms this year, his “One Thing At A Time” Tour was by far the highest grossing country tour of the year, and it seems like every day he’s racking up new RIAA certifications. What a combo. On Friday Parker McCollum played the second of two shows at The Chelsea in Las Vegas, and he had a surprise in store for a crowd that likely included plenty of NFR visitors. In a TikTok that captured the moment, Parker brought out Koe Wetzel to perform the pair’s popular song, “Love.” The track was released on Koe’s Noise Complaint record from way back in 2016, and although the duo have toured together in the past, Parker mentioned that he hasn’t played the song live in over four years. Prior to Koe coming out, Parker interacted with…

He’s a man of many talents. On Tuesday Cody Johnson posted a reel to Instagram in conjunction with CMT, in which he attempted to answer rapid fire interview questions while untangling a large strand of Christmas lights. Cody did an impressive job, especially considering straightening out Christmas lights might be the single most infuriating thing anyone has ever done. He even managed to glance up and make occasional eye contact, which I know I wouldn’t have been able to do. He started out by giving us his favorite and least favorite Christmas songs, those being “White Christmas” and “Grandma Got…

Let her show you how it’s done. On Monday Hardy’s wife, Caleigh, posted a reel to Instagram from one of his recent concerts. Evidently some of the female fans in the front row had flung their bras on stage, and Caleigh decided to have some fun of her own. In the beginning of the video, she can be seen reaching under her shirt and pulling off her bra. Smiling the whole time, she managed to make her way to the front of the pit. She waited until she had her husband’s attention before tossing the bra onto the stage. Caleigh…
