Trust me, if you haven’t seen this yet, you’re gonna want to.
Back before Cody Johnson was being played on mainstream radio with a record deal, he was still one of the best (and underrated) singers in all of Country music.
While traditional leaning artists are starting to make a comeback and be played on radio, they’re still overlooked by artists such as Morgan Wallen. And hey, that’s what the people want to hear so fine. But Texas bull-rider turned Country singer, Cody Johnson, has some of the best pipes and charisma in the genre.
Just refer back to his 2016 cover of George Strait’s “You Look So Good In Love.” Now, this isn’t a debate on if he did it better or any of that other nonsense. This is just to highlight that he covered the absolute fu*k out of it.
It’s been almost 7 years since Cody posted his version on the internet but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep pressuring him to record a studio version. (Seriously, it may hit No. 1 almost as fast as Luke’s cover of “Fast Car”).
