Did Morgan Wallen and Post Malone Just Release The Song of the Summer – Again? Fans Sure Think So

If breaking the internet by confirming the likes of Eric Church, Tate McRae, HARDY and ERNEST will be featured on I’m The Problem wasn’t enough, Morgan Wallen kept the massive hype surrounding his upcoming album going even more by announcing that he’s running it back with Post Malone on the brand new song, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.”

After teasing the song last Friday via his Instagram story with the caption, “Might put this one out next but gotta check with the other artist on it first,” the “Last Night” singer officially confirmed that it was none other than Post on an Instagram post Tuesday:

Like any release from Wallen or Post, fans were in love with the track from the first tease, with comments on our Instagram post reading:

    “Omg 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥“

“One of my favorites that I’ve hear from this record so far”

    “Love this”

“This one might be one of my favorites”

“Is it a song with Posty?”

“Sounds like [it] could have Post Malone on it”

The question that remains is, “Does the song live up to the hype?”

It’s hard to imagine a world where “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” could top the enormous heights of their first collaboration, “I Had Some Help.” Given that the latter not only racked up over 1 billion streams, snagged a #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 but was also named Billboard’s Song of the Summer for 2024, the likelihood of a repeat of that magnitude is fairly small.

With all of that being said, the track is sure to please fans of both chart-topping artists. Though tonally and lyrically different from “I Had Some Help,” “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” once again feels like Wallen and Post in their sweet spots at this point in their career.

“I Ain’t Comin’ Back” features writing credits from both Wallen and the “Pour Me a Drink” singer, as well as ERNEST, HARDY, Ryan Vojtesak and Louis Bell, and is undoubtedly catchy. It’s clear that Wallen and Co. centered the song around the chorus, which ends with the clever line, “There’s a lot of reasons I ain’t Jesus, but the main one is that I ain’t comin’ back.”

Overall, the latest release from the duo feels like another surefire hit. Though I have my doubts that it will hit the extreme heights of “I Had Some Help,” there’s absolutely no reason the track will not be a mainstay on playlists throughout the summer.

    I’m The Problem Tracklist:

    1. “I’m The Problem”
    2. “I Got Better”
