Remember last week when the internet was blowing up thanks to Drake sliding into Ella Langley’s comment section?
Well apparently the Toronto rapper is doubling down on his Ella fella status after attending her show last night in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I don’t think anyone was prepared to see the “Hotline Bling” singer jamming out admist the Simmons Bank Arena crowd but lo and behold, the two’s artist love for eachother keeps growing.
In case you missed the polarizing interaction last week, Langley first nodded to Drake, lipsyncing to his 2011 hit with Lil Wayne, “HYFR (H*ll Ya F*cking Right).” Rightfully so, she opted to ‘sing’ Wayne’s iconic line, “Do you love this sh*t? Are you high right now?” Still, the video very well could’ve found its way onto Drake’s radar.
Coincidence or not, the next day Drake reciprocated the admiration underneath Langley’s photo dump posted last Monday from her grand sold-out string of Texas stops over the weekend. The five time Grammy award winner shouted out country music’s dominating female by complimenting her artistry saying, “Goated Pen.”
Of course it was only a matter of time before people started jumping the gun, assuming a brewing collaboration was on it’s way. After all, Langley has already toyed with genre-blending tracks, including her feature on Texas rap star BigXThaPlug’s “Hell At Night.”
Personally, I don’t think a few minor internet nods between the two necessarily scream that a collaboration is on the way. However, there’s no denying that if it ever did happen, the crossover would be one for the ages (whether you’re here for the country-rap fusion or not).
Fueling the fire even more, last night Drake looked like he was having the time of his life, cheesin’ on the big screen during Langley’s song of the summer anthem, “Choosin’ Texas.”
Blowing kisses to the crowd, he was singing loud and proud along to the reigning Billboard Hot 100 hit which has spent a whopping 18 weeks atop the chart. Oh and who might that be next to him? Yep, it’s Langely’s “Loving Life Again” co-writer and current tour opener, ERNEST.
Now if there was ever a chance Langley and Drake would collaborate, I have a good feeling the Nashville-born singer songwriter would have some sort of hand in it. After all the once aspiring song cloud rapper who went by ‘SNO,’ has since played a part in some of Wallen’s biggest hip-hop influenced hits like “Broadway Girls, “180 (lifestyle)” Diplo’s “Heartless” and their very own collaboration, “Cowgirls”
The “Deep Blue” singer also teamed up with legendary rapper Snoop Dog in 2025 for “Gettin’ Gone.” As for him and Drake, they were seen getting pretty friendly, wrapping arms around one another while belting Langley’s hit.
Both ERNEST and the 27-year-old Alabama native will return to the stage next week on her fan-favorite Dandelion tour for two back-to-back hometwon stops in Auburn on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, the 29.
