Ella Langley has two new permanent souvenirs from her Austin show to forever commemorate the monumental sold-out night.
Before hitting the stage at the Moody Center for her first string of shows throughout Texas on Thursday night, August 13, Langley rolled up her sleeves backstage to add to her growing collection of tattoos. Ahead of the tour, the “Choosin’ Texas” singer celebrated her highly successful sophomore album with a dandelion tattoo on her forearm, adding to her pre-existing collection of meaningful designs.
As of right now, the country music star also has an Eric Church tribute of a heart on fire, the coordinates of her family’s childhood home, a Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” reference inspired by the first song she learned how to play on guitar, and a pine tree representing Alabama’s state tree…just to name a few. Now, thanks to Utah-based fine line tattoo artist Hannah Matthews at ‘And You Tattoo,’ Langley has two new tokens on her body.
Matthews flew out to Langley’s kick-off Texas stop, joining her just a few hours before she gave the show of a lifetime to ink her another large design gracing the top of her forearm, honoring her late grandma. Langley paid homage to the woman who encouraged her singing career, whom she also nods to in “Loving Life Again” with a design inspired by a portrait hanging in her home.
Matthews shares in her behind-the-scenes vlog, “We ended up doing this little birdie on a branch, and it is based off of a picture her grandma has.” Langley also filled up some space with another tiny tattoo of her new puppy’s name, which she rescued earlier this summer in June, named Joan.
Langley’s fresh tattoos peeked out from her red flowy sleeved dress at Thursday night’s show. She also gave a shout-out to her tattoo artist in the comments of Matthew’s post, which featured snapshots of Langley getting the design, writing, “My girl.” Langley then took to the comments of her TikTok vlog to plead, “Can you come back already?”
The country music chart-topper and her brand new body art will return to the stage this Thursday, August 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, followed by a Saturday night show in North Little Rock, Arkansas, before hitting the stage next weekend for two shows in her home state.
