It’s been about a week since Ella Langley sent the internet into a frenzy with an ominous countdown on her website, paired with a looping visual of a dandelion blowing away.

We finally have answers to the big wind-up. Langley took to Instagram today at noon to announce that her sophomore album, Dandelion, will be released on April 10th. With anticipation high, luckily, we won’t have to wait long to hear a snippet of what’s to come, thanks to the fact that the title track will drop this Friday, January 30.

In her announcement, Langley writes, “So excited to finally announce that my sophomore album ‘Dandelion’ will be out April 10th & the title track is yours this Friday! Welcome to Dandelionland.”

Marking the end of one era and the beginning of another, Langley shared an uplifting message in the video’s monologue, explaining the inspiration behind the album’s whimsical theme, “Dandelions are masters of survival. Thriving in even the harshest environments. Often dismissed as a common weed, this unassuming plant carries a deeper symbolism of hope, healing, and resilience. “

She goes on to reflect on her process writing this album and how she hopes it’ll connect with listeners, “This next record to me has so much growth in it. I feel the most myself I’ve ever felt. I want you to dance, I want you to sing, I want you to be able to relate to these songs where you don’t feel alone in your thoughts. I want you to not even worry about anything, daydream, and listen to these songs. I want you to enjoy them with your friends and family.” She adds, “I’ve thought about this record every single day for the last year and a half, and I’m so excited to finally say, ‘Welcome to Dandelionland.’”

2025 was undeniably a whirlwind year for the 26-year-old singer-songwriter, who was thrust into the spotlight both for better and for worse. While her career reached new heights, Langley ultimately stepped back from touring in August to focus on her physical and mental recovery. Dandelion appears to be shaped by those experiences and the necessity of healing. Produced by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West, it will be interesting to see how those themes manifest on this record compared to her 2024 album, hungover, which leaned into a darker, more raw and brooding sound.

Given Langley and Lambert’s past success with their smash hit “Choosin’ Texas,” anticipation is especially high. Not only is the song Dandelion’s lead single, but it also offers reassurance that the project will no doubt live up to the hype. Released back in October 2025, the track has spent three consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and has already amassed over 240 million streams.

Continuing the album’s theme of rejuvenation and healing, Langley also shared a clever bridging connection behind the title “I learned that dandelion tea is actually a natural detox for the liver.” Adding, “So a record called Dandelion after a record called hungover made all the sense in the world to me.”

While no official tracklist has been released yet, fans can look forward to uncovering the surprises Dandelion has in store, along with hearing the full version of the title track. Based on the brief snippet featured at the end of the album teaser, Dandelion is already shaping up to be a promising, springtime, frolicking staple.
