Etching closer to the highly anticipated release of her sophomore album, Dandelion, on April 10, this week marks another monumental accomplishment in Ella Langley’s career as she continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Apparently, the rest of America is finally up to date on the fact that her October 2025 single, “Choosin’ Texas,” is a certified earworm as it sits on top of the Hot 100 chart for its fourth non-consecutive week. Insanely, Langley’s rise to the top on this all-genre chart as a solo female artist, in and of itself, was a MAJOR accomplishment. This past February, she joined the ranks of fewer than 10 female country artists who were able to make this historic feat.
Today, the news broke that with this quadruple week success, Langley has now surpassed the reigning streak maker, Taylor Swift, who previously held a three-week Hot 100 record with her 2012 Red track, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Langley also continues to maintain her reputation as the leading lady on the Hot Country Songs chart with “Choosin’ Texas” marking its 17th week.
Co-written by Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, this time around the track beat out Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” from the previous week. The song, once inspired by Lambert’s pet kangaroo, has now become an unstoppable country anthem with the “Kerosene” singer recently describing the unexpected hit as,“a little song about Texas did some big sh**.”
Marking the first single off her upcoming 18-track project, the rest of Dandelion sure has some big expectations to live up to. Luckily, the three consequent releases, such as the title track, “Be Her”, and most recently, “Loving Life Again” have continued to solidify an optimistic outlook of more great success to come for the 26-year-old Alabama native.
