At this point, Morgan Wallen’s infamous chair incident at Eric Church’s bar, Chiefs, hardly needs an introduction. On April 7, 2024, Wallen was arrested on three counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon/reckless endangerment and 1 count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair off the rooftop of the “Springsteen” singer’s Nashville venue.
After a lengthy legal battle and pushback from multiple Nashville council members publicly condemning the “Last Night” singer, Wallen had the three felonies dropped and instead pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon. Alongside the misdemeanor charges, Wallen served seven days in a DUI education center and received a two-year supervised probation.
It seemed like all the controversy surrounding the event had finally died down. However, it looks like Chiefs has rolled out a brand new cocktail in reference to Wallen’s chair-throwing and subsequent arrest.
Last night, Edward James, a tour manager, digital content creator and merchandise manager, took to TikTok to share a video of the brand-new drink with the caption, “‘The Chair’ Now Available at @chiefsbroadway.”
As shown in James’ video, the brand-new cocktail is named “The Chair” and contains Smirnoff raspberry vodka, raspberry liqueur, lemonade and a splash of soda. More notably, it comes with a plastic chair with a Chief’s logo that sits on top of the drink. He would later state in the comments that it costs $19.
We reached out to James, who confirmed that it is, in fact, real and available now: “I work there. It’s official and on the menu.”
Though it’s a bit surprising that the drink itself doesn’t contain any whiskey in it given that One Thing At A Time alone references the liquor a staggering 46 times, you have to give props to James and the rest of the creative team over at Chiefs. If that isn’t A+ marketing, I don’t know what is (even if it’s late).
