BIG fan of this guy.
This past week, Gabe Lee released a new and fresh “re-imagined” version of his popular song “Eveline.”
Four years since it’s original release, Lee wants his fans to: “enjoy this track of an old original, brought brilliantly to life by some of my favorite bluegrass picking buds.“
It doesn’t happen often, but I love when artists go back and re-visit deep cuts, or in this case, put out a new string band version of his most well-known (and my personal favorite) debut single.
Gabe Lee has an interesting story that you don’t see often in Country music. He was raised in Nashville by Taiwanese immigrant parents, where he spent his time in the Church choir, playing in school bands and taking piano lessons. Lee says his parents experienced a culture shock coming here but worked hard and supported him and his passion for music.
Gabe Lee is clearly not a household name in Country music and doesn’t have a massive social media following but has all the talent and potential to make it BIG.
Check out the original version of “Eveline,” as well as the new video from the Sound Emporium Studio in Nashville, below. (FYI, both are phenomenal.)
