Riley Green will hopefully eliminate his A through Triple D cup props on stage at his upcoming Denver show…for a good cause.
While there’s no denying the country music star looks like he thoroughly enjoys finding creative ways to sling his fans’ bras thrown onstage across his and his bandmates’ instruments, this time around a local radio station has come up with a much better use for everyone’s discarded undergarments. Hitting the stage next Thursday, September 10, in Denver, Colorado, 98.5 KYGO is partnering with the show in hopes that they can collect a few bras of their own to donate to local women’s shelters.
During his Cowboy As It Gets Tour stop at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre, the country station is setting up outside the box office before the show at 4 p.m., collecting fans’ brand-spanking-new or unused bras. Luckily, the fanfare of getting to chuck your holders at the “Worst Way” singer isn’t completely lost, as concertgoers will still be encouraged to toss their bras at a cardboard cutout of Riley instead.
Now that’s my kinda pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey-esque party activity. Upon doing so, each participant will be entered to win backstage passes to meet the star of the night— talk about an upgrade.
Better yet, multiple bras equal multiple entries, so feel free to stock up before the show. KYGO promises that every single bra collected will then be distributed to local women’s shelters in the nearby Denver community.
The idea stemmed from an interview Green did a few years back where he noted that his team had started collecting each bra after the shows: “We were putting them in a big bin, and we were gonna donate them to wherever you donate bras to, I guess.” He then emphasized, “What I learned there was like people commenting saying that they were really expensive. I didn’t know that.”
Lord, ain’t that the truth. Take a chance at giving back instead, and you might just earn the opportunity to be graced by Green’s presence backstage at his Colorado show in just a few days. He’s bound to return to the States a little bit tanner too, with his next show taking place in San José del Cabo, Mexico on September 6.
