A lot can be said with just one word…
As most are probably already aware, the massive country music duo that was once Florida Georgia Line, broke up back in 2022 to what can mostly be attributed to political differences.
Tyler Hubbard and his wife, Hayley, who both align themselves on the left, unfollowed Brian Kelley and his wife, after their support for Donald Trump during the 2020 election. While the duo denied politics being the sole cause of their breakup, it’s pretty obvious it played a significant role.
Aside from politics, however, the duo also didn’t agree on how to handle the future of the band if one or both parties sought after a solo career. During an appearance on Barstool’s Bussin’ With The Boys, Hubbard told Will Compton and Taylor Lewan that the split was “really unexpected.”
“BK came to me and said, ‘Man I’m really feeling like I want to do a solo thing.’ “I don’t have capacity to do two careers. And also it’s going to get super sticky. When we’re writing songs, who are we writing for? When we got two show offers, an FGL date and a solo date, what are we taking? I don’t even logistically see how that would work.”
And of course, Brian Kelley heard the interview and immediately called up the boys to get his own appearance and share his side of the story just days later…
“Tyler had solo music out before I even did. Before we even got our fifth album out, he had released a couple songs. He had played Biden’s inauguration which was a huge look to be a solo act with Tim McGraw. He released another song. I didn’t start releasing music ’until April.”
Well, it appears time makes the heart grow fonder, as the two were spotted together laughing for the first time at the 59th annual CMA Awards just last month.
And now, it looks like the two have a plan to spend some time together, as Tyler Hubbard recently appeared on the Human School Podcast and revealed he is working to rebuild his relationship with his former bandmate. And although Hubbard adds, “It doesn’t have to be what it was, and it doesn’t have to equal FGL doing anything,” he said he wants to repair the fractured friendship:
“We need to repair and spend some time together face to face. And just walk and talk and hang, and go fishing or get a guitar out. l’m excited for that, because yeah, it feels like, at this point, enough time has gone by. What’s happened has happened. But there hasn’t been any real repair at all, so what I’m hungry for is..let me get my friend back.”
“I hadn’t spoken to BK a lot the last couple of years, but we’re going on a hike next week. I have a desire for that friendship.I miss the guy I was partners with for two years. I miss my old roommate, my best man at my wedding, and if nothing else, we should have a relationship.”
We recently posted Tyler’s above quote to our Instagram, and after a few days or making its round on the social platform, it wound up catching the eye of Brittany Aldean, who couldn’t hold back from making some sort of comment at Hubbard’s emotional plea to have his friend back, even if all it was, was just a casual “lol.”
Of course, Brittany and her husband, Jason Aldean, are no strangers when it comes to not shying away from their political beliefs. I mean, just days ago the couple made an appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where Brittany explained why they decided to speak up and voice their conservative views in the first place:
“Me and Jason one day were like okay, we feel this way, we know so many people do, but so many are afraid to speak out or lose their jobs, or maybe a record deal. We asked is this something that, because of the position we’re in, we’re going to full steam ahead?”
The couple is also good friends with President Trump, being seen with him on numerous occasions, including at the Republican National Convention just days after the president survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump was also notably an active supporter of the 47-year-old singer/songwriter’s highly controversial #1 hit, “Try That In a Small Town,” back in 2023. He defended the song during the peak of its controversy, saying, “Jason Aldean is a fantastic guy who just came out with a great new song. Support Jason all the way. MAGA!!!”
Although one could argue that a simple “lol” comment on our post is a nothing burger, you can’t help but feel the sarcasm behind it, almost as if she’s laughing at his plea for friendship, given that she knows more about the situation than us. And of course, how Hubbard handled the split with BK and his refusal to accept any of the blame. But again, this is purely speculation.
