Safe to say, Megan Moroney has got to be feeling like she’s on cloud 9 these past few days.
Sorry to everyone who just rolled their eyes egregiously at that painfully obvious pun, but nonetheless, it couldn’t be more fitting. The recently turned 29-year-old not only made history by becoming one of the first country artists to perform during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show but also followed her viral 3-song medley with a surprise guest appearance at Kacey Musgraves’ night 2 Los Angeles show.
If you happened to tune into any of Moroney’s press interviews surrounding the release of her third studio album, Cloud 9, back in February, she was very vocal about how getting Musgraves on the project was a major bucket list item. And now, the “Tennessee Orange” singer can officially say she got to perform side by side with one of her idols.
Musgraves has been on quite the special guest kick as she prepares to round out her 2026 Middle of Nowhere tour, surprising the fans with a variety of celebrities, including Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Carter Faith, and now Moroney. During her second Los Angeles show, the two ladies teamed up for Moroney’s aforementioned Cloud 9 collab, “Bells & Whistles.”
Chances are, you’ve seen Moroney’s solo version pop up on your feed a time or two, considering it’s become a pretty iconic moment on her own tour. At the end of each performance, she surprises the crowd by revealing a clever, city-specific phrase written on the back of a mirror. But there’s no denying that having a duet partner helped finally bring the collaboration fully to life, with the two embracing at the end of their first-ever live rendition together.
Musgraves will remain on the West Coast as she prepares for her final string of 2026 tour stops this weekend, hitting the stage once more in Oakland, CA, Friday night (Oct. 23), followed by two back-to-back shows in Seattle.
