Buddies.
Unless you live under a rock, you’re probably well aware that Jason Aldean has been under fire this past week for his latest single, “Try That In A Small Town.”
While the song has now sold over 227,000 U.S. digital downloads this week alone, the second highest pure sales week of the year so far, it hasn’t stopped critics from taking aim at the Country singer, as well as CMT removing the video from their music video rotation.
Last night, Luke Bryan, one of Jason’s closest friends in the industry, played a show in Ridgefield, Washington, and before singing “Huntin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Everyday,” he told the crowd, “Wanna send this one out to my buddy Jason Aldean, alright,” and the crowd loved it.
He then added, “if you like to love one another, where you at?“
While he didn’t necessarily come ready to cut throats in defense of Aldean, he didn’t need to. Jason has been taking some heat on social media, as well as from the biggest media outlets in the Country, so taking time to acknowledge his friend during this moment was a kind gesture.
