One of Miranda’s best songs.

13 years ago, today, Miranda Lambert released “The House That Built Me” her first No. 1 hit on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart and ACM’s Song of the year.

Written by Allen Shamblin and Tom Douglas, the song was originally meant for ex-husband, Blake Shelton to record but when Lambert heard it , she immediately wanted to record it for herself.

Although Blake has had a pretty massive career, songs typically find their right homes and no doubt that this one belonged to Miranda. Check out the official music video, as well as her ACM performance from 2010, below.
