Yesterday, Morgan Wade took to Instagram to announce the release of her sophomore album, Psychopath. The Wilder Days singer also announced that the titular track will be the first single off of the record, being available for streaming now.
The song’s release has been years in the making, being played live by Wade at shows since 2021.
Wade has been teasing the song’s official release for over a week, first posting this acoustic clip on TikTok and Instagram.
Psychopath is the first single off of the 13-track album slated for an August 25th release. In her Instagram announcement, Wade said;
“Regardless of what people say about Psychopath, I’m proud because I feel like it showcases where I am at this moment in time. I have no choice but to be authentic. And I have to feel what I feel. And right now, I’m really feeling the music.”
Written independently by Wade, the song most definitely feels like her at her most vulnerable. Throughout the track, she’s reflecting on her past relationship and wondering what her life was like before it. It seems as if Wade is showing a different, more reflective and authentic side of herself in Psychopath.
