Back in May of 2023, Morgan Wallen released his own signature flavor of sweet tea with the popular tea brand, Ryl. Selling out quickly upon release, it has become a staple flavor of the brand over the past two years.
Today, Ryl and Wallen are back with another ad for the drink, joined by none other than Barstool comedian, Caleb Pressley and comedian/podcast extraordinaire, Theo Von, who was alongside Wallen during his walkout before his Nashville show back on May 3rd.
This isn’t the first time that Wallen and Pressley have teamed up for a Ryl Tea ad. Back in February, the pair teamed up for their first promotion of Wallen’s signature flavor for the brand in a skit at a barber shop revolving around the “Last Night” singer’s infamous shaved-head look in 2023.
This time around, the duo is joined by Von in a skit that centers around the fact that many customers don’t know how to pronounce the brand’s name. Spelled Ryl (pronounced “real”), the promo hilariously captures the confusing nature of the stylized spelling of tea company.
The mock-boardroom meeting begins with Wallen noting that he was supposed to shoot a scripted ad written by Von himself, but it’s quickly revealed that Von never wrote the fictional script because he was fishing on vacation.
In typical Theo Von fashion, he drops some great lines, referencing how people can’t spell the tea properly. In one monologue, the Louisiana native says, “The problem is people can’t spell the tea, you know? If people can’t spell and you’re those people, then that’s on you, I feel like. Where I grew up, people couldn’t spell. So I don’t mind it, but some people, I guess, have a problem with it.”
Von ends the promo with a line about being a big Parker McCollum fan, “I’ll probably listen to ‘Sand in My Boots’ on the way home. I’m also a Parker McCollum fan. I’m not gonna say that, but people know it.”
