Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s been well-documented that reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, Morgan Wallen’s, chair-throwing incident outside of Eric Church’s bar, Chiefs, back in April has been one of the most controversial stories outside of the studio in country music all year.
The arrest led to a plethora of memes and t-shirts with Wallen’s mugshot, as well as criticism being thrown at the “Last Night” singer with Nashville council-member, Jordan Huffman, claiming that the Tennessee native “does not belong” in the town.
After getting arrested on three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor for disorderly conduct, Wallen was originally set to have his Nashville court date take place on August 15th; however, it was pushed all the way back to this Thursday, December 12th.
Today, a day before his court date, The Tennessean is reporting that Wallen is set to enter a plea to the criminal charges that were being made against him by the Nashville Police Department. The plea deal consists of Wallen’s charges now composed of two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon, having all three felony counts dropped by the court.
The 31-year-old singer/songwriter is still set to appear in court tomorrow at 12:45 p.m. with Judge Cynthia Chappell overseeing the case.
As of now, neither Wallen nor his attorney, Worrick Robinson, have commented on the charges being reduced.
