You love to see it.
It’s been nearly three years since we’ve gotten new music from Whiskey Myers, and in today’s fast-paced music industry, it almost feels like a lifetime. With that being said, however, it seems like the wait for new music from the Texas band is about to be over.
Minutes ago, they took to Instagram to announce that they’re working on a brand new album produced by none other than Jay Joyce, “For those that haven’t figured it out, we have been in the studio with Jay Joyce creating what will be our 7th album. We’ve seen that y’all have been listening to our music more now than ever before, and we can’t wait for y’all to hear this new stuff. Stay tuned. New music coming soon!”
For those unfamiliar with Jay Joyce’s work, he’s one of the best producers in the business, producing albums with the likes of Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Brothers Osborne, Cage the Elephant, Ashley McBryde, The Black Crowes and more. With four CMA awards, five ACM awards and a plethora of Grammy-winning albums such as Wildcard and Bellbottom Country, Joyce is undeniably the perfect fit for this project. Pairing one of the best country/southern rock bands currently working today with Joyce simply feels like a match made in heaven.
As noted in the caption, there’s been an undeniable love for Whiskey Myers in the country community as of late. It feels like you can’t go far online without hearing the ever-iconic intro to their 2011 hit, “Broken Window Serenade,” which has amassed a staggering 170 million streams on Spotify alone.
Couple that with platinum certifications for the likes of “Stone,” “Bury My Bones” and “Ballad of a Southern Man,” and it seems as if Whiskey Myers is finally getting the recognition that they’ve deserved since their debut with Firewater back in 2011.
As of now, the album has no release date.
