Big ole hit.
“Different ‘Round here” by Riley Green featuring Luke Combs is the #1 song on Mediabase country this week.
Originally the title track to Green’s debut album in 2019, Riley re-recorded and re-released the song with Combs as the first single off his recent sophomore studio record, “Ain’t My Last Rodeo.”
Different ‘Round Here becomes Green’s third No. 1 at country radio, following the platinum hit, “There Was This Girl,” and his collaboration with Thomas Rhett on “Half of Me.”
Surprisingly enough, Green’s third single, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died“ is certified double platinum and is arguably his biggest song to date, yet only peaked at #12 on both Billboard’s Country Airplay and Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts.
The reimagined single currently boasts more than 364 million total streams, with 50 million of them being from Spotify. Green had this to say about re-releasing Different ‘Round Here with LC:
“This song took on a life of its own over the past couple years and fans from all over have identified with it. I appreciate Luke Combs jumping on it and getting to share this No. 1 with us.”
“Brave is eighteen wearing army green
Truth is in the words in red we read
Proud is what you say about where you’re from
Heroes are daddies and mamas are love
Where right is right, and wrong is wrong, yeah we’re
Doing things a little different ’round here“
With a chorus that powerful, it’s no wonder why fans have resonated with the song over the last five years. Add in Luke’s voice and you got yourself a big ole hit. Congrats to Riley, co-writers Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, and producer Dan Huff. It’s a 10/10 boys.
Riley kicks off his 33-city, Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour, on February 22nd in Pikeville, Kentucky, featuring Tracy Lawrence and Ella Langley as openers. You can view all dates and purchase tickets here. Listen to Different ‘Round Here, below.
