With President Donald Trump’s inauguration right around the corner on January 20, the itinerary for the historic day is slowly being revealed.
First being reported by former congressional candidate, Matthew Foldi, it was revealed that none other than eight-time Grammy winner, Carrie Underwood, will be singing America The Beautiful alongside The Armed Forces Chorus and The United States Naval Academy Glee Club.
To no one’s surprise, the reaction to Underwood’s upcoming performance at Trump’s inauguration has brought out the worst in people with many on the left calling for a boycott of the “Before He Cheats” singer’s music.
Here are some of the posts on X that range everywhere from deleting her music to throwing away her records:
Our Instagram comments had some interesting reactions as well:
Some Republicans on X were also quick to overreact to the announcement with a few users name-dropping Morgan Wallen and Jason Aldean due to the calls to boycott their music in the past.
Thankfully, there were some rational takes amid the stream of partisan virtue-signaling, with X user, Jason Scalese saying, “I like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Stop stressing about every f*cking thing people.”
At the end of the day, the controversy is undoubtedly ridiculous. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who would turn down the opportunity to perform at an event as historic as a presidential inauguration, but, of course, you’re not going to find a lot of rationality on the internet.
