Treaty Oak Revival Hilariously Performs “See You In Court” Right After A Couple Gets Engaged During Their Concert In Las Vegas

Nothing says true love quite like getting engaged at the happiest place on earth: Boomtown, USA, of course.

In all seriousness, Sam Canty, lead singer of Treaty Oak Revival, helped make one lucky couple’s engagement pretty memorable at their Las Vegas show this past December. User @karlie.jay recently posted a clip from the night where someone proposed to their significant other at the front row of the band’s show.

In between songs, Canty handed off the microphone to the man, who, of course, shouted at his girlfriend, “Kendall, will you marry me?” to which the crowd erupted with applause. The “Stop & Stare” singer took back the microphone to enthusiastically assure everyone, “She said yes!”

Hilariously, with no other comment, he then went on to announce, “This next song’s called ‘See You In Court.’” Because, of course, nothing starts off a happy engagement better than a song about getting taken to divorce court.

In case you’ve never heard this Treaty Oak staple, the chorus sings, “So honey come and try to take what’s mine, cause I’m gonna come and take yours in due time with some money and some common sense.” It then continues with the ultimate line, “If there ain’t nothing left to report, well then b**** I’ll see you in court.”

Upon investigating the set list from the December 5 show at the Brooklyn Bowl, the proposal took place right after “Ode to Bourbon” (which also doesn’t really set the tone to get down on one knee, but still a great song), and “See You in Court” closed out the night. Nonetheless, with the West Texas degenerates and a crowd of fans watching over the whole proposal, it had to be a magical experience for the happy couple.

While “Ode to Bourbon” would be a pretty epic track to walk down the aisle to, hopefully, there’s at least one slow dance to “Sunflower” at their future wedding. For those also hoping to express their love via a beer-soaked night out at a Treaty Oak concert, the West Texas Degenerates Tour kicks off tonight, February 5, in Worcester, Massachusetts, and will round out August 8 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (Bonus points to whoever proposes at the Valentine’s Day show in Columbia, South Carolina).
