There’s no denying that Sam Barber is well on his way to becoming one of the hottest names in alternative country.
Hailing from a small town in Missouri, singer-songwriter Sam Barber first proved his vocal abilities with the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Zach Bryan covers he’s posted to social media over the past few years. He’s since shared equally impressive renditions of Koe Wetzel and Chris Stapleton hits, and even knocked it out of the park with his incredible acoustic take on Beyoncé’s “Halo.”
This kid’s a hell of a lyricist too – it’s almost hard to believe he’s only 18. He’s written several original songs, and continues to crank ‘em out at an unbelievable rate. The Missouri-native’s first release of the year, “Drowning,” came out in March, followed by “Straight and Narrow” just last week. Sam Barber shared the news via Instagram today that fans can expect yet another brand-new song, a track titled “Ghost Town,” in just two short weeks.
This will be Barber’s third single in under two months, and the sixth original song of his career to date. “Straight and Narrow” will be a tough one to top, but from what I’ve heard so far, “Ghost Town” might be his best yet.
Check out Sam Barber’s Instagram for a sneak peak of “Ghost Town” before streaming 5/4.
