The internet clearly wasn’t a fan of the country singer’s National Anthem performance.
Just before the Big 12 Championship game between Texas and Oklahoma State kicked off, country singer Warren Zeiders was tasked with performing the National Anthem at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Before the coin was even tossed, the internet was already doing what the internet does best….trolling and roasting.
While Warren Zeiders has gained popularity over the last year or two, it hasn’t come without heavy criticism. While many fans appear to be drawn in by his raspy vocals, you’d be hard pressed to find a single post of him that doesn’t contain comments calling him cringey or just a flat-out bad singer.
You can watch his performance below, but first, let’s take a look at what the internet had to say:
Hahaha Warren Zeiders just BUTCHERED the national anthem 😂 Who booked him for that 😂

Warren Zeiders' rendition of the national anthem at the Texas versus Oklahoma State game was 1990 Roseanne Barr awful. He sounded like an SNL parody of a singer.

Warren Zeiders is trash. Woof. Dude sounds like what AI thinks country sounds like.

And then there’s a couple of tweets like these sprinkled in every so often:
One of the best national anthems I’ve seen hands down #warrenzeiders

Is all publicity good publicity? I don’t know, check the streaming numbers after today. But in the meantime, here’s his Star-Spangled Banner rendition, and let’s just say it was no Chris Stapleton:
