Just earlier this month, Jason Aldean showed up and surprised Luke Bryan at his 30 #1 hits celebration to perform his 2012 single, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.”
It’s been almost 22 years since Luke moved to Nashville and 16 years since he released his debut studio album. During that time span, Luke has been one of the most popular and successful country artists/performers in the genre.
Make no mistake, I think most would agree that Luke has had some pretty awful singles over recent years, but there’s been a few (mostly from his older discography) that have become staples and classics in modern country music.
One of those classics is the mid-tempo break-up song, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye,” from arguably his best album to date, “Tailgates & Tanlines.”
While the event, which took place at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, featured other performances from artists such as Dierks Bentley and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, long-time friend, Aldean, showed up ready to rock…
“I’m obviously honored to be here. I’ve been along, I feel like for all 30 of these #1s with you and I’ll never forget Luke came to my house in Florida one day and he just finished the Tailgates & Tanlines album and wanted to play me some cuts on it. We just sat there and listened to it and I just… didn’t know what was going to happen, but I just knew he had a lot of hits on the record and just a really great album.”
