What a moment.
It’s been well-documented that Jason Aldean has been a huge supporter of the armed forces. With both his father and grandfather serving in the military, the “Fly Over Sates” singer has often honored members both on and off the stage over the years.
Yesterday, Aldean took to Instagram to document a special moment between him and Navy First Class Petty Officer, Blake Darling, and his family, surprising them after returning from his 10-month deployment. During what seems to be an intimate pre-show meet-and-greet, Aldean took Darling’s son and daughter on stage.
While Darling’s kids were on stage with Aldean, he said, “I know your dad is in the military, right? We thought we’d give you a little surprise today, if that’s cool with you guys. Can we do that?” before revealing that Darling had, in fact, returned from his deployment.
With the crowd erupting in applauds, Darling walked on stage along with his wife, Brittany, and embraced his children in a hug.
In the Instagram caption, Aldean said, “After a 10 month deployment, First Class Petty Officer Blake Darling is back home with his family! Thanks to his wife Brittney for letting us be in on the surprise. Welcome home!”
