You know what they say, inspiration is everywhere and often in unexpected places, and it looks like “Love You Anyway” singer Luke Combs found some creativity at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, home of the Milwaukee Brewers MLB team.

Kicking off his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour at this venue tomorrow (April 12) — putting on two back-to-back shows that are sure to be nothing short of sensational — it looks like being in a ballpark inspired Combs to write a brand new tune, one that will seemingly appear on his fifth studio album titled “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

Sharing the track via Instagram and YouTube for country music lovers all across the globe to hear, Combs sings to kick off the song:

“Caught a foul ball up in the bleachers / And the shortstop autographed it / I keep it on the dresser / And every day that passes / I’ve been throwing it to myself / I got pretty good at catching / I’m just calling to say I miss you / And making sure you know / It’s my birthday pretty soon / And all I want is for you”

He then delves into the chorus of the soon-to-be smash hit:

“Take me out to the ballgame / Pick me up at the house / What’s this every other weekend thing you’re even on about / ‘Cause Mama said she loves you / And in some ways always will / I guess maybe things are different now but Daddy can you still / Take me out to the ballgame?”

As mentioned in the chorus, the song discusses divorce, something that is not seen too often within the country music community.

Despite his parents, Rhonda and Chester Combs, being happily married, the “Where The Wild Things Are” singer seemingly stepped into the shoes of a child that wants nothing more than a good relationship with both of his parents. With the narrator of the song yearning for his seemingly estranged father to take him to a baseball game — a classic activity that sons do with their fathers — the lyrics of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” are equally as gut-wrenching as they are catchy, making for a song that is sure to be topping the charts in no time.

While he has yet to perform the track live, will “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” become a part of the setlist for his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour? We will just have to wait and see, but until then, you can check out the unreleased song below.
