pThe most unexpected duo of 2024?
In a year full of breakouts from the likes of Riley Green, Zach Top and many others, Megan Moroney very well may have had the biggest year of them all. Between the release of her sophomore album, Am I Okay?, multiple late-night TV appearances and a plethora of headlining performances at festivals across the country, the “Tennessee Orange” singer has seemingly been everywhere.
Moroney spent a majority of the summer on the road with Kenny Chesney on his Sun Goes Down Tour along with Zac Brown Band and Uncle Kracker, and it’s clear that the pair became quite close over the tour’s four-month run from April to August.
On the final night of the tour in Foxboro, Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium, Chesney and Moroney brought out all of the stops with Moroney famously dressing like the “Somewhere With You” singer during his performance of “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”
Today, Moroney released a live performance of “Am I Okay?” from the same night in Foxboro to wrap up the year, and it’s a damn good one. In her Instagram post announcing the video, Moroney said, “a lot of dreams came true this year & fortunately I have one of my favorite memories of 2024 documented forever <3… WHAT A FREAKINNNN YEAR I LOVE YALL THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS YEAR THE BEST YET”
In the video, while introducing Moroney to the crowd in Foxboro, Chesney praised the 27-year-old singer/songwriter, “It has been our pleasure to be on the road. I’m going to talk about this all weekend. Like I said, I wasn’t going to do this till maybe tomorrow night or Sunday, but Megan not only came out on the road with her songs but she came out on the road this summer with her heart. And for that, we love you very much. It is my pleasure to introduce to New England, the wonder and the magic of Megan Moroney.”
