Sad day for country fans.
Back In October, Toby Keith made a surprise appearance for fans in attendance of Jason Aldean’s concert at the Paycom Center in his home state of Oklahoma.
At the time, it appeared Toby’s recovery was going well, as the 62 year-old singer took the stage and hinted at hittin’ the road again soon:
“I’m on my rehab tour. If I’m not at my bar, I’m down at Hollywood Corners or I’m on stage with Jason Aldean. The Almighty’s been riding shotgun and my ass is ready to get back to work!”
Even though Toby had just performed this past weekend in Vegas, we sadly woke up to the news of his passing via social media after his battle with stomach cancer over the last couple of years:
Keith will be remembered for his patriotism, humor, and his remarkable thirty-year music career that spawned twenty #1 hits and a massive 40 million album sales. Rest easy, big dog daddy.
Keith is survived by his wife, three children, and four grandchildren. Watch the performance with Aldean here:
