Arguably the hottest name in the alt-country scene, Wyatt Flores is undoubtedly on a hot streak. After releasing two incredible projects, Half Life and his debut album, Welcome To The Plains, the Oklahoma native is well on his way to stardom in 2025.
Today, he released a music video from one of the standouts from Welcome To The Plains, none other than the 11th track, “Little Towns,” which ultimately serves as a love letter to his family and hometown in Oklahoma.
In an Instagram post announcing the video’s release, Flores noted that it was shot primarily in Beaver, Oklahoma, a city where most of his family grew up:
“The panhandle of Oklahoma is where a lot of my family comes from, and Beaver, OK is a great representation of what a true little town looks and feels like. When it came to this song and video, the inspiration came from me missing places like this and how often they get overlooked. Beaver may not seem like much if you’re just driving through it, but if you get the chance to stop, look around, and talk to someone you’ll understand what I’m talking about. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, sometimes it’s right in front of you.”
Directed by Rahul Chakraborty, a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and actor, the music video does an incredible job of pulling you directly into the small-town atmosphere of Beaver. The sprawling wide shots of the plains and streets are juxtaposed with some intimate shots of Flores and his family, truly giving you a glimpse into the Oklahoma native’s upbringing.
Before the music video premiered, Flores answered some fan-submitted questions in his YouTube chat. The “Please Don’t Go” singer highlighted his approach to his upcoming Welcome Back To The Plains Tour, “Lots of new stuff coming for the tour. Some songs we haven’t played off the album, some old ones, and a whole new set! Plus a lot of cool stage and lighting we’ve been working on.”
Later, Flores also confirmed that a live album is coming very soon, telling a commenter, “Live album… stay tuned for some news top of next week. It’s done and I’m so proud of it.”
