Need this ASAP.
Wrapping up a year that included a Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for “Fast Car,” the release of his fifth studio album, Fathers & Sons and the opening of his Nashville bar Category 10, Luke Combs took to Instagram today to tease a brand new duet seemingly titled, “More Less Than Perfect.”
Just minutes ago, Combs posted the one-minute teaser with the caption, “Who should I duet this with?”
You can’t always judge a song by its first teaser, but I have to say, this sounds like an absolute smash hit for Combs and whoever he decides to duet the track with. Between the sparse production only backed by a piano and Combs’ vocals which are simply dripping with soul, “More Less Than Perfect” is bound to be a go-to wedding song whenever it releases.
Combs’ vocals perfectly complement the heartfelt lyrics throughout the teaser:
“But just because I’m broken, it don’t mean I’m worthless
The heart you let me hold, I know I don’t deserve it
You could run away and save yourself some hurtin’
But you keep lovin’ me when I couldn’t be
More less than perfect”
It’s not a well-kept secret that Combs is in his sweet spot when it comes to ballads, whether it’s “Beautiful Crazy,” “Forever After All” or the underrated, “Love You Anyway,” and it looks like he tapped into that same niche here after a bit of a departure on Fathers & Sons this year.
As of now, the song has no release date.
