One of my favorite Childers songs.
Last night, Wyatt Flores put on one helluva performance of Tyler Childers‘ “Charleston Girl” at Music Farm in, you guessed it…Charleston, South Carolina.
The track was written solely by Childers and while the only version on streaming platforms is live from the Red Barn Radio in 2018, fans (including myself) haven’t seemed to mind one bit.
Wyatt had a massive 2023, solidifying himself as one of the hottest rising stars in country music. From amassing well over 3 million monthly Spotify listeners, to earning his first-ever gold certified song with “Please Don’t Go,” it’s accolades such as those that have made Wyatt a highly sought after act to include in festivals across the country.
So far, Wyatt has been included in the lineup for this years massive four-day Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the 2024 Hangout Music Festival on the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Wyatt released his brand new song, “Milwaukee” this past Friday, and while it’s his own music that’s gotten him this far, Wyatt’s covers have always been accompanied with high praise. Just refer to his recent cover of The Fray’s 2006 hit, “How To Save A Life.” His version already has almost 3 million streams on Spotify alone and it’s only been up on the platform for barely over a month.
With that said, maybe we’ll get a studio cover of “Charleston Girl” from the Tyler Childers wanna-be (Wyatt’s words, not mine) soon.
