It’s official…new music from Zach Top is finally on the way.
While the Washington native’s last Grammy-award-winning album, released in August 2025, Ain’t In It For My Health, continues to sustain itself as a timeless record (yes, I have in fact listened to “When You See Me” for the fifth time today), there’s no denying that the anticipation for another project is growing. After teasing that he had been back in the writer’s room and preparing for his fourth studio album, Top officially confirmed we won’t have to wait too long to hear new material.
On his Wednesday, June 17, appearance on the Mostly Sports podcast with Barstool’s Mark Titus and Brandon Walker, Top told the boys (despite no green light from his publicist) that his next record will be coming out, “next spring.” For those also equally as inpatient, he also confirmed that he’d have some teasers released way before then, adding, “I think we’re gonna put out a couple of songs at the end of the summer.”
Fueling another fall filled with cold beer and country music, these new tracks will come at the perfect time for Top’s latest extension of his 2026 tour, now featuring dates throughout September and October. Hopefully, adding a few setlist changes to his massive arena tour across the United States, wrapping up on October 30 in Nashville.
Top also hinted that there may even be a potential collaboration in the works with one of his favorite on-tour performance partners, The Red Clay Strays. Anytime Top and lead singer Brandon Coleman cross paths while out on the road, you can pretty much expect an amazing on-stage crossover, with their most recent live collaboration being George Jones’ “Bartender Blues” at the Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Hopefully bringing their vocal chemistry to the studio in the near future, Top admitted, “anytime we’re around each other, we love singing together. [Brandon’s] one of my favorite singers in the world, and so we keep on talking every time we see each other. It’s like, man, we need to write sometime and record something together.” When the glorious day that this collaboration finally happens, I’m already preparing for the internet to break.
In the meantime, as Top polishes his upcoming releases off and ties them up in pretty steel-guitar bows, he’s still got a jam-packed summer of touring ahead of him, returning to the stage as the headliner of tonight’s (June 18) kick-off to the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival in Bloomington, Illinois.
