Good time to be a Riley Green fan.
Fresh off the release of his 7-track EP, “Way Out Here,” back in April, Riley is already teasing new music for fans on social media.
In a recent Instagram post, the 35 year-old country star shared a teaser of a brand new song titled, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” and the stripped-back, acoustic video has already garnered over 53,000 likes and more than 600 comments filled with fans begging for its release.
Early on in his career, Riley was known for being an incredible story-teller, just refer back to “Behind the Times,” “Numbers on the Cars” or “Different ‘Round Here.” However, one could argue that it wasn’t necessarily his songwriting abilities that helped his career first take off. Yet, if you listen to Riley’s latest album and EP, along with the new tune he shared last night, you’ll notice he’s simply getting better and deeper and even more relatable.
That hasn’t change a bit either on this new one. Coming from a place of heartache, Riley wears his heart on his sleeve in the chorus:
“It’s killing me not holding you right now, I’m one memory away from falling all the way apart
Because I still love you, hope you don’t mind if I do.”
It’s safe to say that probably almost all of us have felt that way before at one time or another. So go ahead, Riley…drop this one ASAP.
